Please do NOT!! send us general genealogical queries
as it is very unlikely that we have the expertise or time to answer them. We
receive about 5 messages per day similar to the following:
I'm new to this and would like to trace my family history.
My ancestor XY came here in the last century. ...
Although it would be nice to have, there is nothing like an
expert who knows everything about genealogy and certainly not about your
particular problem. We try to do our best to maintain these pages. We would
love to add more, but we need specialists for this task.
So if you have a genealogical query, it should go to a wider
audience than to just a handful of webspace maintainers.
When you post, give some thought to your subject line and
try to include a surname, year and placename if applicable. In your message,
besides stating your question, explain what research efforts you have tried so
far and with what results. If you do these two simple things, you will find
the quality of replies increased tenfold.
